General Accountant

About the role

The General Accountant will join the finance team of a leading hospitality group in Amman, handling the complete accounting cycle across multiple restaurant and café locations. Reporting to the Finance & Digital Transformation Manager, the role ensures accurate financial records, compliance, and timely reporting using Odoo as the system of record.

Key responsibilities

• Audit and reconcile daily POS sales, bank deposits and Odoo entries for all branches.
• Manage petty cash, cash tills and delivery‑aggregator settlements.
• Record and review supplier invoices, perform 3‑way matching and schedule payments.
• Handle catering and corporate invoicing, collections and AR aging.
• Reconcile Odoo stock valuation with physical counts, monitor COGS and food‑cost ratios.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and process payroll via KayanHR/Odoo integration.
• Create month‑end journal entries, perform inter‑branch reconciliations and support management reporting.
• File GST returns, manage withholding tax and ensure compliance with e‑invoicing (JoFotara) requirements.
• Maintain the fixed‑assets register and calculate periodic depreciation.

• Works under a clear segregation of duties within the finance team.
• Reports directly to the Finance & Digital Transformation Manager.
