Housekeeping Manager

About the role

The Housekeeping Manager oversees the daily operations of the housekeeping department, including the recreation/health club and laundry where applicable. Reporting to senior management, the role ensures guest rooms, public areas and employee spaces are clean, well‑maintained and meet the hotel’s quality standards while controlling costs.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily housekeeping shifts, verify compliance with policies, standards and procedures.
• Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms and public areas and coordinate corrective actions.
• Manage room status communication with the Front Desk and prepare work assignments based on occupancy and departures.
• Maintain inventory of supplies, equipment and uniforms, ensuring adequate stock levels.
• Develop and monitor departmental budgets, track expenses and strive to meet or exceed financial targets.
• Train new room attendants, schedule staff according to business demand and track attendance.
• Apply HR policies fairly, handle disciplinary actions, and promote employee recognition programs.
• Participate in departmental meetings and communicate goals and performance expectations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 2 years of housekeeping or related experience, OR a 2‑year degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or a related field.
• Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
• Ability to work under budgetary constraints and meet service quality standards.
