IT Adviser (Consultant)

About the role

The Ethics Office at UNRWA Headquarters in Amman is seeking an experienced IT Adviser on a part‑time consultancy basis. You will support the design, testing and implementation of a case‑management system that handles ethics advice and staff declarations of interest.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct quality assurance and user testing of a third‑party case‑management application built on the Zoho ManageEngine platform to verify fit‑for‑purpose functionality.
• Provide expert advice on the IT user requirements of the Ethics Office, including the development of a case‑management database for Area Staff Declarations of Interest.
• Assist UNRWA’s Department of IT (DITID) in market research and selection of suitable software solutions for the Ethics Office.
• Advise on data security and privacy best practices, taking into account the sensitivity of personal information and the UNRWA operating environment.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (master’s or equivalent) in IT, computer science or a related field; a bachelor’s degree with two additional years of experience is acceptable.
• Minimum seven years of relevant IT experience, including advisory roles, software development and quality assurance.
• Proven experience testing software delivered by third‑party vendors.
• Strong background working in Microsoft environments (Azure, SQL Server, Active Directory) and defining user needs, business rules and workflows.
• Open to both international and local candidates; international applicants must have at least two continuous years of relevant experience outside their home country.
