IT Specialist – Education Focus

About the role

Sumw Group is seeking an experienced IT Specialist with a strong focus on education and user training. Based in Amman, the role involves supporting both internal teams and client productions, with occasional travel to Malta, KSA and other locations.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and update hardware, software and production‑related systems.
• Monitor system performance and ensure secure, reliable network access.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues, providing first‑line help‑desk support.
• Document solutions, procedures and best‑practice guides.
• Design and deliver training sessions, workshops and user guides to improve digital literacy.
• Collaborate with production, operations and management teams to align IT services with business and educational needs.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of IT experience, preferably in the education sector.
• Hands‑on network administration experience (routers, switches, wireless).
• Strong troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis abilities.
• Knowledge of network security, access control and patch management.
• Customer‑service mindset with the ability to train users of varying technical levels.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+ or Cisco are a plus.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Amman and adapt to a fast‑paced, project‑driven environment.
