Lifting Equipment Inspector

About the role

SGS is seeking a qualified Lifting Equipment Inspector to carry out inspections and load tests on a range of lifting assets, ensuring compliance with international safety standards. The role involves close collaboration with client representatives and internal teams to deliver accurate inspection reports and maintain high safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of overhead cranes, mobile cranes, tower cranes, forklifts, lifting gears and accessories.
• Perform load testing to verify equipment capacity and operational safety.
• Prepare detailed technical inspection reports and communicate findings to clients and office staff.
• Maintain regular contact with client representatives and facility personnel to ensure accurate results.
• Stay up‑to‑date with the latest industry procedures, standards and client‑specific instructions.
• Support continuous improvement by investigating issues and recommending corrective actions.
• Adhere to SGS safety, field operations and reporting procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• Certification by the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) or equivalent.
• Proven experience inspecting lifting equipment and accessories.
• Strong knowledge of safety procedures and international standards.
• Ability to handle confidential information sensitively.
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
