Material Planning Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Material Planning Engineer to plan raw material supplies, translate customer orders into production orders, and coordinate with Production and Procurement to ensure efficient resource utilization and uninterrupted production.

Key responsibilities

• Calculate requirements for raw materials and production supplies.
• Convert customer orders into production orders and set manufacturing priorities based on delivery schedules.
• Monitor material production plans, ensure readiness of finished materials, and oversee timely delivery to warehouses.
• Prepare periodic reports on material readiness and alignment of production plans with sales forecasts.
• Analyze actual material consumption versus production plans and sales requirements.
• Review and audit Bill of Materials (BOM) and production formulas.
• Issue purchase requisitions for raw and packaging materials.
• Monitor inventory levels, including minimum/maximum levels and reorder points.
• Update and review MRP schedules in response to changes in sales and production plans.
• Track execution of production orders and compare actual output against approved plans.
• Analyze variances, identify root causes, and adjust plans for breakdowns, shortages, or demand changes.
• Follow up on open purchase orders with Procurement to ensure material delivery according to schedules.
• Prepare and track KPIs such as material availability, shortage downtime, inventory turnover, planning accuracy, and stockouts.
• Maintain coordination with Sales, Production, Procurement, Warehousing, Quality, and Logistics to ensure material availability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in material planning within the industrial sector.
• Experience in aerosol manufacturing, chemical, pharmaceutical, or FMCG industries preferred.
• Fluency in Arabic and English.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with material requirements planning (MRP) systems.
• Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets.
• Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Sage X3.
• Knowledge of Power BI (preferred).
