Regional Rehabilitation Specialist – Mashriq (Middle East)

About the role

The Regional Rehabilitation Specialist will support the development and implementation of HI’s operational and sectorial strategies across the Mashriq region (Lebanon, Palestine, Jordan, Egypt, and Syria). Reporting to the Technical Head of Program, the role ensures high‑quality, impactful rehabilitation interventions in complex humanitarian settings.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to regional and country‑specific strategies, ensuring alignment with global technical frameworks on rehabilitation.
• Provide technical support, design tools and training materials, and ensure quality monitoring of rehabilitation activities.
• Promote HI’s expertise externally, building partnerships and enhancing the organization’s influence in the sector.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities, keeping abreast of international best practices and guiding project design.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, or Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in international development, emergency, or post‑crisis environments, with proven collaboration with national rehabilitation actors.
• Strong strategic and analytical abilities, capable of establishing clear frameworks and limits.
• Experience in capacity‑building techniques for adult learners and a collaborative team mindset.

What we offer

• 12‑month international fixed‑term contract starting September 2026.

• Gross salary of €2 813 per month plus a net per‑diem of €640.
