Senior Accountant

About the role

A finance team is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to join a multi-entity environment. The role ensures accounting records are kept in line with IFRS, supports financial reporting and the monthly and annual close, and involves working with auditors, tax consultants and operational teams while mentoring junior accountants.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and review general ledger accounts to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.
• Support monthly and annual closing, including preparation of financial statements and disclosures.
• Coordinate with auditors for smooth annual audits.
• Prepare payments and verify documentation for compliance and accuracy.
• Assist in cash flow management and forecasting.
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation records.
• Prepare and submit sales tax returns and liaise with tax consultants on income tax filings.
• Analyze financial performance and support budgeting and yearly business reviews.
• Lead weekly Accounts Receivable aging meetings and train and mentor accountants.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
• 4-7 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
• CMA certification is a plus.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills.
