Senior Business Intelligence & AI Specialist (Consultant)

About the role

The Consultant will design, develop, implement and maintain enterprise Business Intelligence and AI solutions that enhance data accessibility, reporting, analytics and decision‑making across UNRWA. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality data warehouse models, ETL/ELT pipelines, Power BI dashboards and AI‑enabled analytics while ensuring data quality and adherence to architecture standards.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse business requirements and translate them into technical BI and AI solutions.
• Design and develop dimensional data‑warehouse models, analytical/semantic models and OLAP cubes.
• Develop, maintain and optimise ETL/ELT processes and data‑integration solutions.
• Create and sustain Power BI reports, dashboards, KPI scorecards and AI‑powered visualisations.
• Support the implementation of Microsoft Copilot and other AI capabilities within BI solutions.
• Ensure data quality through profiling, validation, cleansing and monitoring.
• Provide technical advice on BI, analytics, AI and data architecture.
• Coordinate with the Enterprise Architecture & Business Intelligence team for design, deployment and production support.
• Deliver technical guidance and knowledge transfer to BI developers and related staff.
• Prepare and maintain solution documentation, specifications and user manuals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Science, AI, Software Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of professional experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Data Engineering, Data Warehousing or related areas.
• Proven experience with Microsoft Power BI, SQL Server, SQL development and database scripting.
• Hands‑on experience with ETL/ELT development, dimensional modelling and AI‑powered analytics.
