Senior Database Security Engineer – IBM Guardium

About the role

Nextwo is looking for a Senior Database Security Engineer with deep expertise in IBM Guardium. You will join the IT Security team to protect database environments, ensure compliance, and support audit readiness across multiple platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and configure IBM Guardium to monitor activity on Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, MySQL, PostgreSQL and other databases.
• Define security policies, alerts and reports within Guardium for compliance monitoring.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and database security audits.
• Analyze database activity for suspicious or unauthorized access.
• Collaborate with DBAs to apply encryption, masking and other security controls.
• Maintain and tune Guardium appliances, collectors and aggregation servers.
• Perform upgrades, patching and generate compliance reports for internal and external audits.
• Investigate security incidents, provide root‑cause analysis and remediation recommendations.
• Integrate Guardium with SIEM platforms such as Splunk, QRadar, ArcSight or Microsoft Sentinel.
• Provide training and guidance on database security best practices.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with extensive hands‑on experience in IBM Guardium.
• Strong knowledge of database security, compliance standards (GDPR, PCI‑DSS, HIPAA, SOX, ISO 27001) and data protection governance.
• Proven ability to work with DBAs and security teams in a multi‑platform environment.
