Senior Mechanical Engineer – CCGT & Solar PV Projects

About the role

An engineering department in Amman, Jordan is looking for experienced Senior and Lead Mechanical Technical Engineers. The role covers mechanical engineering design reviews, technical coordination, equipment engineering and multidisciplinary support for large-scale CCGT power plants and solar PV projects. It is a design and technical role, not a site execution position.

Key responsibilities

• Review and coordinate mechanical engineering designs and deliverables
• Review equipment datasheets, technical specifications and engineering calculations
• Support technical bid evaluations and vendor document reviews
• Coordinate with Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation and Process Engineering teams
• Review piping systems, mechanical layouts and equipment interfaces
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, EPC requirements and international standards
• Take part in design reviews, technical workshops and engineering coordination meetings
• Provide technical support during procurement, construction and commissioning
• Identify engineering risks and recommend practical technical solutions

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Senior level: 8-12+ years of experience; Lead level: 12+ years
• Proven experience in CCGT power plants, utility-scale solar PV, EPC and industrial or energy projects

Required skills

• Technical knowledge of gas turbines, HRSG systems, balance of plant, cooling water, HVAC, fire fighting, water treatment, pumps and rotating equipment, and piping systems
• AutoCAD, Revit MEP and Navisworks
