Training and Job Placement Officer

About the role

The Training and Job Placement Officer will coordinate the core employability pathway of the AMAL project, overseeing accredited TVET courses, life‑skills training, paid internships and matchmaking events for vulnerable youth in Amman, Zarqa and Karak.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate planning and delivery of accredited TVET courses with the Vocational Training Corporation and training providers.
• Organise life‑skills, soft‑skills, legal awareness and online English trainings, ensuring alignment with the TVET pathway.
• Manage enrolment, attendance and progress of 100 trainees, respecting inclusion quotas for women, persons with disabilities, Syrian refugees and vulnerable Jordanians.
• Design and supervise a two‑month paid internship programme for the 70 most prepared trainees, including placement, agreements and monitoring.
• Build and maintain relationships with employers, business associations and chambers to promote employment of participants.
• Lead the organization of three matchmaking events between trained youth and businesses.
• Monitor participants’ progress toward employment or self‑employment and report job‑placement indicators.
• Ensure training venues, materials and methods are accessible and inclusive.
• Prepare activity plans, progress reports and contribute to donor reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Human Resources, Development, Business Administration, Social Sciences or related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in vocational training, employability or job placement programmes, preferably in humanitarian or development settings.
• Demonstrated ability to liaise with training providers, employers and private‑sector actors; existing network in Jordan is a strong asset.

• Strong coordination, networking and organisational skills.
• Sensitivity to gender and disability inclusion.
• Proficiency in English; Arabic is a strong asset; knowledge of Italian is an advantage.
