Business Development and Alliance Manager

About the role

Labatec Pharma, a Swiss private pharmaceutical company supplying medicines to hospitals and retail pharmacies across Switzerland, the Middle East, North Africa and Europe, is looking for a Business Development and Alliance Manager for its Corporate Development team. The role leads in-licensing deals from first contact to signature, owns the relationship with licensing partners throughout the life of each agreement and supports wider corporate transactions such as M&A, out-licensing and post-deal integration. It reports to the Head of Corporate Development and works closely with Sales and Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance and Legal. The position is based in Amman, Jordan.

Key responsibilities

• In-licensing: scout, screen and evaluate opportunities, conduct market research and build product forecasts, build business cases, define negotiation strategy and negotiate term sheets and licensing, supply and distribution agreements.
• Pipeline management: manage the business development pipeline, contribute to the annual plan and budget, and keep leadership informed of progress, risks and mitigations.
• Alliance management: act as single point of contact for partners, set up and run partner governance (steering committees, business reviews, action plans), track performance and contractual obligations, and lead renewal and amendment negotiations.
• Coordinate internal teams so Labatec meets its commitments to partners, maintain a partner engagement plan and schedule partner visits.
• Corporate transactions: support M&A due diligence, out-licensing and integration planning, including transfer of partner contracts.
• Represent Labatec at industry events and partnering conferences in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.

Required profile

• University degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Biology, Medicine or equivalent; advanced degree preferred.
• At least 5 years in business development, licensing or alliance management in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Proven track record of negotiating and closing licensing, supply or distribution agreements.
• Experience managing partner relationships after signature, including governance and contract performance tracking.
• Ability to review legal documents and contribute to drafting agreements, with knowledge of commercial and trade law.
• Knowledge of regulatory, medical affairs and go-to-market processes in the Middle East, North Africa or Europe is a plus.
• Excellent spoken and written English (C1 to C2) and fluent Arabic; another European language is a plus.
• Valid driving licence; travel up to 30% of the time across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.
