Chief of Party – National Conveyor Project (Jordan)

About the role

CDM Smith is seeking a senior leader to serve as Chief of Party for Jordan’s National Conveyor Project, a flagship water‑security initiative that will deliver desalinated water from the Gulf of Aqaba to Amman and surrounding governorates. The role is based in Amman and will span at least two years, overseeing the transition from project close‑out to construction and commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall management, technical direction and delivery of the National Conveyor Project.
• Act as the primary liaison with USG, the Government of Jordan, Ministry of Water and Irrigation, Water Authority of Jordan and other national and international stakeholders.
• Ensure all technical, procurement, advisory and management services meet contract requirements and approved standards.
• Oversee legal, financial, technical and coordination support throughout the implementation phase.
• Guide procurement processes, transaction advisory services and financial close activities.

Required profile

• Extensive experience leading large‑scale water infrastructure projects, preferably in the Middle East.
• Proven ability to manage multi‑disciplinary teams and complex stakeholder environments.
• Strong understanding of Build‑Operate‑Transfer (BOT) models, renewable energy integration and climate‑related compliance.
• Minimum two‑year commitment to the project.
