Civil Engineer - Solar Projects

About the role

Philadelphia Solar, a solar energy company manufacturing photovoltaic modules and solar mounting structures, is looking for a Civil Engineer with 2-5 years of experience to join its engineering team in Jordan. The engineer supports the planning, design coordination, supervision and execution of civil and structural works for solar energy projects, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications, quality standards, safety requirements and project timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate civil and structural works for commercial, industrial and utility-scale solar PV projects.
• Review civil engineering drawings, technical specifications and construction documentation.
• Oversee site preparation, earthworks, foundations, concrete works and structural installations.
• Coordinate the installation of solar mounting structures and related civil infrastructure.
• Monitor construction activities against approved designs, technical standards and project requirements.
• Conduct site inspections and support QA/QC activities.
• Coordinate with electrical and structural engineers, project managers, contractors and consultants.
• Assist in preparing bills of quantities, material estimates and technical reports.
• Monitor project schedules, material usage and construction progress; identify and resolve technical issues.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and prepare site progress reports and engineering documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• 2-5 years of experience in civil engineering, construction or infrastructure projects.
• Experience in solar, renewable energy or EPC projects highly preferred.
• Good understanding of civil and structural engineering principles, construction methods and technical standards.
• Familiarity with concrete foundations, steel structures and construction quality control.
• Ability to interpret drawings, technical specifications and BOQs.
• Strong site supervision, coordination and problem-solving skills; good command of English and Arabic.
• Willingness to work on project sites and travel within Jordan.
