About the role
The Commis II position supports the culinary team at a Marriott Westin property in Aqaba, preparing ingredients, cooking, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, weighing, measuring and mixing according to recipes.
- Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, fryers and other kitchen equipment safely.
- Cook and assemble dishes to meet quality, presentation and food‑preparation checklist standards.
- Monitor food quality, test doneness, and ensure correct temperature of appliances and food.
- Set up and break down work stations, serve food in proper portions, and maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, tools and equipment.
- Follow all company safety, security and hygiene policies, reporting any issues to management.
Required profile
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- At least one year of related food‑service experience.
- No supervisory experience required.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lb and perform repetitive kitchen tasks.
