Credit Analyst – Corporate and SME Lending

About the role

The Credit Analyst assesses the creditworthiness of corporate and SME borrowers and recommends whether to approve, structure or decline credit. The role protects portfolio quality through sound financial analysis, clear credit memos and ongoing monitoring, in line with the company's credit policy and CMA regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze new and renewal credit applications from corporate and SME clients and prepare credit memos with a recommendation, risk rating, proposed limits, pricing and conditions.
• Assess repayment capacity, cash flow, collateral, guarantees and management quality, and run industry, market and peer analysis.
• Analyze audited and management financial statements, calculate leverage, liquidity, profitability and debt service coverage ratios, build cash flow projections and run sensitivity and stress tests.
• Review collateral valuations and loan-to-value coverage.
• Conduct annual and interim reviews of existing facilities, track covenants, early warning signals and past-due accounts, and flag deteriorating exposures.
• Support the collections and recovery team with analysis on problem accounts.
• Prepare portfolio reports on concentration, risk grades and delinquency for management and the credit committee, ensure credit files comply with policy and regulator requirements, and support internal and external audits and IFRS 9 expected credit loss inputs.
• Contribute to updates of credit policies, procedures and scoring models.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Banking.
• 1-2 years in credit analysis, corporate or SME lending, or financial analysis at a bank, finance company or investment firm.
• Fluent English and Arabic, written and spoken.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of financial statement analysis and credit structuring.
• Advanced Excel; experience with financial spreading tools.
