Finance Officer

About the role

JOSA, a Jordanian social enterprise focused on open-source technology for social good, is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Officer. The Finance Officer is responsible for the financial health and successful growth of JOSA and reports to the Executive Director.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate, up-to-date financial records across organizational and project accounts, and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for leadership and donors.
• Develop, monitor and revise budgets for JOSA and its programs.
• Manage grant financial compliance, including tracking burn rates, preparing financial reports and ensuring spending matches approved grant budgets and donor or client requirements.
• Support accounting, general ledger and operations functions so that systems ensure compliance, timeliness and accuracy.
• Provide financial analysis and strategic input for organizational planning and leadership decisions.
• Develop and improve internal financial policies, processes and controls.
• Liaise with auditors, contractors and donor representatives on financial and compliance matters.
• Build financial literacy across program and operations teams to support effective project budget management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; other backgrounds are welcome with substantial relevant experience.
• Experience in financial management within civil society organizations, donor-funded projects or the ICT sector.
• Professional accounting qualifications (CPA, CMA, ACCA or equivalent) are an asset but not required.
• Clear, effective written and spoken Arabic and English.

Required skills

• Knowledge of financial and management accounting principles and familiarity with relevant reporting standards.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
