Infrastructure Manager AIX

About the role

Arab Bank is seeking a hands‑on Infrastructure Manager to lead its enterprise infrastructure team. The role combines technical leadership with people management, overseeing IBM Power Systems, AIX, IBM i (AS400) and Red Hat Linux environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead operations for IBM Power Systems (AIX, IBM i) and Red Hat Linux platforms.
• Provide hands‑on system administration, performance tuning, troubleshooting and capacity planning.
• Design and optimise LPAR configurations, PowerVM and overall Power Systems architecture.
• Drive end‑to‑end migrations of AIX, IBM i and Linux workloads, including Live Partition Mobility initiatives.
• Implement automation using Ansible and shell scripting to standardise processes.
• Support integration platforms such as Kafka, Confluent Kafka and CDC environments.
• Ensure security hardening, compliance and best‑practice configurations.
• Lead incident response, root‑cause analysis and continuous service improvement.
• Collaborate with application, database and middleware teams to maintain platform stability.
• Mentor engineers, manage workload distribution and promote technical excellence.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in AIX/IBM Power and Linux environments.
• Proven track record leading technical teams in enterprise infrastructure.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with IBM Power Systems, PowerVM, LPARs, AIX and IBM i.
• Solid experience in Red Hat Linux administration and automation (Ansible).
• Familiarity with Kafka/Confluent Kafka and CDC architectures.
• Demonstrated ability to execute system migrations, performance tuning and high‑availability designs.
