Kitchen Intern

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Kitchen Intern to join our culinary team at the Ritz‑Carlton property in Amman. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience in food preparation and kitchen operations within a world‑class hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, weighing and measuring according to recipes.
• Cook and assemble dishes, both hot and cold, following quality, presentation and safety standards.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers safely.
• Monitor food temperatures, test doneness, and ensure consistent quality throughout service.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in proper portions, and maintain a clean, sanitized kitchen area.
• Follow company safety policies, report hazards, and complete required safety training.
• Communicate professionally with team members and support a collaborative work environment.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least one year of related food‑service or kitchen experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 lb and perform repetitive motions.

Required skills

• Operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Food preparation techniques including chopping, portioning and measuring.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
