Laundry Shift Leader

About the role

The Laundry Shift Leader ensures the smooth operation of the hotel's laundry department, maintaining accurate records, meeting departmental laundry requests, and upholding high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain precise records of all items laundered and verify completion of laundry requests for each department.
• Replenish laundry supplies and monitor chemical levels, reporting any pump or dispensing issues.
• Operate washing, dry‑cleaning, and drying machinery, add chemicals, and clean lint traps and filters after each load.
• Identify stained or damaged items and decide on repair, spot‑treatment, rewash, or discard.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, and motivating staff.
• Follow all company safety, security, and confidentiality policies and report hazards or incidents.
• Ensure uniform and personal appearance standards are met and maintain professional communication.
• Perform physical duties such as standing, walking, lifting up to 25 lb, and navigating confined or elevated spaces.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least one year of related laundry or housekeeping experience.
• Ability to work full‑time on‑site in a fast‑paced hotel environment.
• Physical capability to stand, walk, lift, and move in confined or uneven areas for an entire shift.
