Lead Subcontract Civil Engineer

About the role

The Civil Subcontract Lead manages civil subcontractors throughout the construction phase of power projects. The role ensures that subcontracted civil works are executed safely, on schedule, within contractual requirements and in line with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and project needs.

Key responsibilities

• Manage civil subcontractors from mobilization through execution, completion and close-out.
• Coordinate civil construction activities such as earthworks, foundations, concrete structures, buildings, roads, drainage and underground networks.
• Review subcontractor work plans, manpower, equipment, schedules and construction methods.
• Monitor progress against the approved schedule and identify potential delays or performance issues.
• Work with Construction, Engineering, Planning, QA/QC, HSE, Contracts, Commercial and Procurement teams.
• Ensure subcontractors follow approved drawings, technical specifications, method statements and project procedures.
• Monitor productivity and recommend corrective or recovery actions; review progress and quantities with project teams.
• Take part in progress meetings, follow up agreed actions, and support evaluation of variations, claims and scope changes.
• Maintain documentation of subcontractor performance and progress, and support completion, punch-list clearance, handover and close-out.
• Ensure compliance with project HSE and quality requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 10-12 years of relevant experience, preferably in EPC construction projects.
• Previous experience at Manager, Construction Manager, Subcontract Manager or equivalent level.
• Strong preference for experience in power plants, CCGT, substations, industrial plants, oil & gas or major infrastructure projects.
• Good command of English.
