Legal Consultant – Technology‑Facilitated Gender‑Based Violence

About the role

The Legal Consultant will support JOSA in enhancing its Technology‑Facilitated Gender‑Based Violence (TF GBV) Glossary by integrating accurate legal terminology. The role involves reviewing Jordanian and international legislation, conducting stakeholder consultations, and delivering a revised glossary that aligns with current legal frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Review and update the existing TF GBV glossary to reflect Jordanian and international legal concepts.
• Conduct a desk review of domestic legislation, international law, and related texts to identify additional legal terms.
• Develop a focus‑group discussion guide and facilitate two sessions with lawyers, journalists, and other key stakeholders.
• Coordinate with the Danish Institute for Human Rights (DIHR) and attend three monthly check‑in meetings with JOSA programme staff.
• Prepare draft deliverables, incorporate feedback promptly, and submit the final enhanced glossary.

Required profile

• Law degree (LL.B, LL.M or equivalent) with a focus on human rights, gender‑based violence, or technology law.
• Proven experience in legal research, drafting definitions, and working with both national and international legal sources.
• Familiarity with Jordanian legislation and international human‑rights instruments.
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement and facilitation of focus groups.
