Mechanical Engineer – HVAC, Plumbing & Fire Protection

About the role

The Mechanical Engineer will lead the design of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and specialized systems for a variety of projects, ensuring compliance with international codes and local regulations. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated, clash‑free mechanical solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design HVAC systems including chilled water, DX, VRF and ventilation, tailored to project requirements and climate.
• Develop plumbing layouts for domestic water, drainage and heating, as well as medical gas and specialized healthcare systems.
• Create fire protection designs (sprinkler, standpipe, clean agent) in line with NFPA and civil‑defense standards.
• Perform load calculations, duct and pipe sizing using tools such as HAP, Elite and Pipe Sizer.
• Prepare detailed mechanical calculations, equipment selections and Bills of Quantities.
• Guide BIM‑based models in Revit, ensuring accurate coordination with architectural, structural and electrical disciplines.
• Lead technical reviews, QA/QC processes and mentor junior engineers.
• Compile and submit authority approval packages to local regulatory bodies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proven experience in HVAC, plumbing and fire protection design for commercial or healthcare projects.
• Familiarity with international standards such as ASHRAE, SMACNA, IPC and NFPA.
• Strong ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
