MEP Data Centre Engineer – Principal/Associate Level (Amman)

About the role

WSP is looking for an experienced MEP Data Centre Engineer at Principal/Associate level to lead the design and delivery of mission‑critical data centre facilities in Amman, Jordan, and across the Middle East region. You will act as the technical authority, coordinating with clients, vendors and internal teams to ensure performance, reliability and compliance from concept to handover.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the single point of contact for all technical aspects of assigned data‑centre projects.
• Lead and approve concept, schematic and detailed designs for electrical and mechanical systems, including UPS, generators, switchgear, HVAC, cooling, public health, BMS, fire protection and life‑safety.
• Develop scalable, repeatable data‑centre solutions to drive consistency across UAE and KSA.
• Conduct site assessments, capacity planning and feasibility studies aligned with Uptime Institute Tier requirements.
• Ensure compliance with international standards (Uptime Institute, TIA‑942, NFPA, ASHRAE) and local regulations.
• Mentor engineering teams, capture lessons learned and promote continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with supervision, procurement and construction teams to control costs, manage vendors and mitigate technical risks.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in MEP engineering for data‑centre projects.
• Proven track record of delivering large‑scale, mission‑critical facilities.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with ability to influence clients and stakeholders.
• Experience working in the Middle East region and familiarity with local codes.
• Professional engineering registration or equivalent qualification.
