Principal Banker – Sustainable Infrastructure

About the role

The Principal Banker will be based in Amman and work within the Sustainable Infrastructure (SI MEA) team, delivering the Bank’s mandate in energy and infrastructure projects across Jordan and Iraq. The role involves leading project structuring, execution, monitoring and client relationship management for debt and equity investments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead structuring, negotiation and execution of transactions, overseeing legal documentation and coordination with clients, authorities and internal units.
• Manage project teams, supervise junior bankers, ensure due‑diligence quality and monitor portfolio performance.
• Contribute to policy dialogue, business development and the procurement of grants or technical cooperation funds.

Required profile

• Significant experience in investment banking, private equity or related financial institutions, with a focus on energy and infrastructure in Jordan.
• Proven ability to lead complex transactions through the full project life‑cycle and mentor junior staff.
• Strong stakeholder management, negotiation and communication skills in English and Arabic.

Required skills

• Financial modeling and quantitative analysis.
• Credit analysis and interpretation of financial statements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and spreadsheet‑based financial modelling tools.
