Senior Backend Engineer (Specialist)

About the role

Almosafer is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design and deliver scalable, cloud‑native solutions for the Middle East’s largest travel e‑commerce platform. You will work on high‑impact projects, shaping architecture and driving technical excellence across multiple product lines.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement technical and integration architectures, including runtime and operations models.
• Define scalable SOA and micro‑service solutions, automating business processes and cloud services.
• Lead large‑scale solution delivery from requirements gathering to go‑live, providing technical design across projects.
• Offer technology consulting on architectural strategy, reviews, audits and road‑maps.
• Manage risks, issues and dependencies, and drive Agile adoption within the team.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of intensive Java backend development and solution architecture experience.
• Strong hands‑on platform delivery and architecture design background.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate technical concepts clearly.

Required skills

• Java (8 or 11), Spring Boot, API security.
• Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka, SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Docker, Kubernetes, AWS cloud services.
• Microservices, RESTful APIs, API gateways.
• Agile software development, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tools.
• NodeJS (nice to have).
