Senior Mechanical Engineer – Building Services (10-15 yrs)

About the role

WSP in the Middle East is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer specialised in Building Services to join its Amman office. The role will involve design review, coordination and construction supervision for complex property and building projects across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering design review and coordination activities across all project phases.
• Review mechanical drawings, specifications, shop drawings and technical submissions.
• Support construction supervision teams and resolve site‑related mechanical engineering issues.
• Ensure compliance with project requirements, quality standards and applicable codes.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Monitor design implementation and ensure alignment with approved project objectives.
• Contribute to technical reviews, project reporting and stakeholder presentations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10‑15 years of experience in Mechanical Building Services Engineering, including HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems.
• Proven experience delivering property and building projects.
• Strong knowledge of design standards, construction practices and project delivery methodologies.
• Experience supporting design review and construction supervision activities.
• Proficiency in industry‑standard engineering and modelling software.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Preferred experience in Saudi Arabia and/or the UAE, building supervision projects, engineering consultancy environments and familiarity with Middle East authority regulations.
