Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack) to join Nortal’s Jordan office. The role combines backend Java development with modern front‑end frameworks and cloud‑native delivery, supporting projects that impact millions of users worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Define and communicate the business value of software initiatives.
• Create and maintain API documentation and technical user stories.
• Approve technical designs and ensure alignment with architectural standards.
• Automate documentation generation and support agile Scrum or Kanban processes.
• Identify and resolve performance issues in distributed systems.
• Evaluate and recommend tools, frameworks, and cloud services for the engineering team.
• Analyse end‑to‑end flows of complex distributed architectures.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.

• SQL schema design and awareness of NoSQL trade‑offs
• Git, CI/CD pipelines and modern DevSecOps practices
