Senior Solar PV Design Engineer

About the role

AQ Electric is seeking a Senior Solar PV Design Engineer to lead the technical design of solar photovoltaic projects. This full‑time remote position will oversee the creation of complete design packages and ensure compliance with all relevant codes and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop full design packages, including single‑line diagrams, site layouts, and bills of quantities.
• Conduct design reviews and guarantee adherence to international and regional standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to optimise system performance.
• Perform technical due diligence, energy‑yield modelling, and performance analyses.
• Support testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and O&M activities, including thermal imaging and drone inspections.
• Prepare detailed engineering documentation and reports.
• Contribute to PV‑BESS integration studies and proposal preparation.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement of design tools and processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience designing solar PV systems for residential, commercial, and utility‑scale projects.
• Proven ability to work on on‑grid and off‑grid installations.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and documentation skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
