Volunteer Scholar – Cyber Jurisprudence Research

About the role

CyJurII is seeking a remote Volunteer Scholar to contribute to cutting‑edge research on cyber law and digital governance. This position is ideal for law students or recent graduates interested in AI regulation, cybercrime, and digital rights.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct independent and collaborative legal research on topics such as AI and law, cybercrime, and cross‑border jurisdiction.
• Draft articles, working papers, case analyses, and thematic reports for publications and policy dialogues.
• Prepare content for events, webinars, and virtual seminars.
• Engage with an international network of scholars, practitioners, and policymakers through virtual meetings.
• Identify emerging issues in cyber jurisprudence and contribute to thought leadership.

Required profile

• Strong legal research and analytical abilities, with experience interpreting statutes, case law, and regulatory frameworks.
• Demonstrated academic or policy‑oriented writing skills.
• Interest or background in AI law, cybercrime, digital rights, or related fields of public international law.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, digital‑first environment and meet agreed timelines.
• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a law, social sciences, public policy, or related degree; prior research experience is a plus.

Required skills

• Familiarity with online research tools and citation standards.
• Proficiency with document collaboration platforms (e.g., Google Docs, Microsoft Teams).
