Artificial Intelligence Engineer (Senior)

About the role

KPMG Middle East is seeking a Senior Artificial Intelligence Engineer to design, develop, and deliver production‑grade AI solutions, including intelligent applications, conversational agents, and automation, within a secure enterprise Microsoft environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship production‑grade AI applications, conversational agents, and automation, owning the full lifecycle from concept to deployment and support.
• Write clean, testable, maintainable code applying best‑practice software‑engineering techniques such as modular design, code reviews, version control, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop and integrate LLM‑powered features using retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG), prompt engineering, function/tool calling, and agent orchestration.
• Integrate AI solutions with Microsoft 365 and Power Platform via REST APIs, connectors, and event‑driven workflows.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify high‑value AI use cases and translate requirements into scoped technical solutions.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve deployed solutions for reliability, latency, cost, and output quality.
• Ensure compliance with KPMG security, data‑privacy, and responsible‑AI governance standards, including regional data‑protection rules.
• Maintain clear technical documentation and contribute to reusable components and engineering standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI, Data Science or a related discipline.
• Proven experience as a software engineer who has transitioned into applied AI, with a strong focus on clean code and system design.
• Hands‑on experience with generative AI, large language models, and enterprise Microsoft environments.
• Understanding of security, data‑privacy, and AI‑governance requirements in a regulated setting.

Required skills

• Software‑engineering best practices: version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, automated testing.
• Large Language Model (LLM) development, including retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG), prompt engineering, function/tool calling, and agent orchestration.
• Integration with Microsoft 365 and Power Platform ecosystems.
