Assistant Electrical Design Engineer

About the role

The Assistant Electrical Design Engineer supports the design and implementation of electrical systems for UNRWA building projects, including schools, hospitals, shelters and renewable energy installations. The role works closely with senior engineers and construction teams to ensure designs meet agency standards, local and international codes, and sustainability goals.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical designs using CAD software for a variety of building projects, incorporating green and safety requirements.
• Contribute to tender documents, draft specifications for non‑standard items and assist with Bills of Quantities and cost estimates.
• Provide technical support for electrical alteration works, including assessments, inspections and remediation reports.
• Collaborate with construction teams to resolve design issues on site and update drawings to reflect as‑built conditions.
• Coordinate with other designers to optimise solutions, suggest improvements and ensure overall safety and integrity.
• Assist in drafting Terms of Reference for consultants, monitor their work and ensure compliance with design criteria.
• Prepare inputs for technical, design and progress reports on a weekly, monthly and ad‑hoc basis.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
