Business Development & Sales Lead

About the role

Roots, a fast‑growing fulfillment provider in Amman, is creating a dedicated sales function to accelerate merchant acquisition. Reporting directly to the founders, the Business Development & Sales Lead will own the end‑to‑end process of bringing new e‑commerce merchants onto the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, engage, qualify and close new merchant accounts across outbound and inbound channels.
• Design and execute account‑based outreach, referral programs and creative demand‑generation campaigns.
• Develop deep knowledge of merchant business models, sales channels and fulfillment needs to tailor pitches.
• Manage full‑cycle deals from prospecting through negotiation, closing and handoff to operations.
• Build and maintain a pipeline tracking system and use data to prioritize activities.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of B2B sales or business development experience, preferably in logistics, fulfillment or related high‑consideration sectors.
• Strong understanding of e‑commerce ecosystems, platform differences and merchant priorities.
• Proven ability to generate a pipeline from scratch using both outbound and inbound methods.
• Self‑directed, results‑oriented and comfortable with high‑hustle activities such as cold calling and field visits.
• Fluent in Arabic and English with excellent negotiation skills.
