Civil Engineer – Site Coordination & Supervision

About the role

The Civil Engineer will oversee day‑to‑day construction activities on educational infrastructure projects in Jordan, ensuring that contractors meet UNOPS quality standards. You will work closely with the Project Manager, suppliers, and on‑site teams to keep projects on schedule and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise contractors and suppliers on a daily basis.
• Inspect works in progress, verify compliance with contract specifications, and enforce quality standards.
• Prepare and submit weekly progress reports and maintain accurate project documentation.
• Assess completed work, verify measurements, and recommend progress payments.
• Review laboratory reports, operation manuals, and approve interim payments.
• Support project closure by archiving cost and progress reports and handing over final documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in site coordination and supervision of civil engineering works.
• Strong ability to identify problems on‑site and propose practical engineering solutions.
• Excellent record‑keeping and reporting skills.
• Familiarity with UNOPS or similar international project standards is advantageous.
