Commis A – Kitchen Assistant

About the role

The Commis A supports the kitchen team by rotating through different stations, learning essential culinary techniques and ensuring smooth daily operations. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on training in a fast‑paced restaurant environment.

Key responsibilities

• Rotate across various kitchen departments to acquire diverse cooking skills.
• Assist senior cooks, follow clear instructions, and help maintain service flow.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety, including HACCP compliance.
• Minimise food and fuel waste through careful preparation and storage.
• Participate in scheduled training sessions to improve technical and operational knowledge.
• Observe fire and safety protocols and operate kitchen firefighting equipment when required.
• Keep work utensils, stations and refrigerators clean, organised and sanitized throughout the shift.

Required profile

• High school diploma (additional diploma a plus).
• 1‑2 years of kitchen or food‑service experience.
• Good written and spoken English and Arabic.
• Detail‑oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Required skills

• HACCP and food‑safety standards knowledge.
• Basic kitchen equipment operation.
• Fire‑safety equipment handling.
• Workstation and refrigerator sanitation.
