Commis I – Food & Beverage Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Commis I to join our Food & Beverage team at a luxury hotel in Amman. The role supports the kitchen and service staff by preparing meals, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring smooth operations during busy periods.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook hot and cold dishes according to recipes, presentation and quality standards.
• Regulate oven, broiler, grill and roaster temperatures and monitor food storage, thawing and portioning.
• Maintain food logs, monitor quantity and quality of prepared items, and inform the chef of excess or special items.
• Communicate menu specials, out‑of‑stock items and assist service staff as needed.
• Follow all safety, security and hygiene policies, report maintenance issues and complete required safety training.
• Support management with hiring, training, scheduling and employee coaching when required.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree in culinary arts or related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in a similar food preparation role.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 lb and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
