Control Room Operator

About the role

The Control Room Operator ensures continuous, safe and efficient operation of water conveyance systems from a 24/7 control centre. Working with SCADA and related tools, the operator monitors production, detects anomalies and coordinates corrective actions.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and control system performance to meet quantity and quality targets.
• Operate SCADA and related technical systems, analyse data and identify malfunctions.
• Remote optimisation of pumping operations while maintaining safety and service continuity.
• Generate and follow up work orders in the CMMS for any equipment issues.
• Coordinate with on‑call staff, site teams, engineers, laboratory personnel, management and external stakeholders during operational events.
• Maintain accurate production reports, operating records, SCADA data and system updates.
• Provide after‑hours communication, emergency coordination and travel between sites as required.

Required profile

• Intermediate education with relevant experience in water operations, electro‑mechanical systems, SCADA or water treatment.
• Strong computer literacy, especially with SCADA, CMMS and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work independently on shift schedules and collaborate with operations, maintenance, technical, QHSE and security teams.
• Attention to detail, analytical mindset and calm response to system deviations.
• Knowledge of QA/QC, health, safety and environmental procedures for water conveyance.
• Professional communication skills in Arabic and English.
• Valid driving licence and flexibility for shift work, rotating locations and extended hours.
