Emergency Programme & Operations Officer – Middle East

About the role

Reporting to the Humanitarian Lead, the Emergency Programme and Operations Officer will support the Programme and Partnership Lead and Coordinator in managing emergency appeals across the Middle East. The role ensures that Christian Aid prioritises locally‑led humanitarian approaches and maximises impact.

Key responsibilities

• Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including Christian Aid colleagues, local and national partners, networks, DEC peer agencies and ACT Alliance members.
• Provide operational support to a dynamic portfolio of partners using decolonised and localised approaches.
• Support partners in monitoring and evaluation, financial accountability and connect them with technical support when needed.
• Maintain internal documentation to ensure risk compliance and meet reporting requirements of appeal funders.
• Communicate and share information about partners and their work both internally and externally.

Required profile

• Demonstrates strong communication and coordination abilities.
• Experience in humanitarian programming and emergency response.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.

• 12‑month fixed‑term contract.
• Hybrid working model (2 days onsite per week).
• Annual salary of 38,300 JOD (approximately USD 54,000).
