Founding Head of Engineering – Full Stack (Co‑Founder)

About the role

Owlera is an AI‑powered professional experience platform that creates virtual simulated internships for students and early‑career talent. We are looking for a founding Head of Engineering to own the full‑stack platform, transform our validated MVP into a scalable production product, and help shape the technical vision of the company.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and build the core Owlera platform, including student and employer applications, authentication, internship management, missions, dashboards, and performance tracking.
• Design scalable APIs, databases, and infrastructure on AWS, ensuring security and multi‑tenant support.
• Integrate AI managers, evaluators, RAG and other LLM services developed with the AI engineer.
• Implement real‑time communication and interactive workplace experiences.
• Establish cloud deployment, monitoring, testing, CI/CD pipelines, and reliability processes.
• Make pragmatic build‑vs‑buy decisions and drive the product from MVP to production.
• Eventually recruit, mentor, and lead the engineering team as the company scales.

Required profile

• Strong experience building products from 0 to 1, preferably in a startup or SaaS environment.
• Proven ability to design and ship full‑stack applications at scale.
• Experience with real‑time systems, AI/LLM integrations, and technical leadership.
• Comfortable working in a small, high‑impact team and taking ownership of end‑to‑end delivery.
