Head of Safety

About the role

The Head of Safety will lead Joramco's Safety Department, overseeing the Safety Management System (SMS) and ensuring compliance with both internal and external regulations. This senior position is responsible for driving continuous improvement, managing investigations, and delivering actionable safety insights across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and continuously improve the Safety Management System, including reporting, occurrence tracking, and voluntary reports.
• Coordinate the roles and responsibilities of reporting staff within the SMS.
• Develop, implement, and maintain workplace safety policies and procedures aligned with recognised international standards.
• Produce formal safety performance reports for the Safety Review Board and Safety Action Group.
• Implement and oversee an independent audit programme, ensuring accurate reporting of non‑compliance and timely corrective actions.
• Identify opportunities to reduce workplace injuries, accidents, and health hazards.
• Review and update safety training programmes.
• Participate in environmental protection initiatives and report related non‑conformities.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Safety Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in safety management within an MRO or aviation environment.
• Strong knowledge of safety laws, regulations and investigation techniques.
• Proven experience with ISO 9001:2015 and continuous‑improvement processes.
• Fluent English with excellent technical report writing skills.
