Housekeeping Manager

About the role

The Housekeeping Manager oversees daily shift operations for housekeeping, the recreation/health club and, when applicable, laundry services at a hotel property in Amman. The role ensures guest rooms, public areas and employee zones are clean, well‑maintained, and meet brand standards while staying within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Manage housekeeping operations and budgets, ensuring alignment with overall property financial goals.
• Verify guest‑room status, communicate updates to the Front Desk, and inspect rooms daily.
• Prepare work assignments based on immediate cleaning needs and upcoming check‑outs.
• Maintain inventory of supplies, verify adequate stock, and ensure staff have proper equipment and uniforms.
• Supervise daily shift activities, enforce housekeeping policies, and conduct regular inspections of rooms and public spaces.
• Lead human‑resources functions: train new attendants, schedule staff, track attendance, enforce policies, and handle disciplinary actions.
• Monitor staffing levels to meet service, operational and financial objectives.
• Provide feedback, recognize employee performance, and participate in departmental meetings.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 2 years of housekeeping or related experience, OR a 2‑year degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or a related field (no experience required for the degree).
