Housekeeping Manager

About the role

The Housekeeping Manager oversees daily operations of housekeeping, recreation/health club, and laundry (if applicable) at a hotel in Aqaba. The role ensures guest rooms, public areas, and employee spaces are clean, well‑maintained, and meet the property’s standards while supporting guest and employee satisfaction within budgetary limits.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and supervise housekeeping staff, ensuring timely communication of room status to the Front Desk.
• Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms and public spaces, assigning cleaning priorities and managing work lists.
• Maintain inventory of supplies, verify adequate stock, and ensure staff have proper equipment and uniforms.
• Manage the department’s budget, monitor financial performance, and strive to meet or exceed targets.
• Lead training initiatives for new attendants, schedule staff according to business demand, and track attendance.
• Enforce property policies, handle disciplinary actions, and support employee recognition programs.
• Participate in departmental meetings and communicate goals consistently.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 2 years of housekeeping or related experience, OR a 2‑year degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Strong organizational and communication abilities.
• Ability to supervise staff, manage budgets, and maintain high standards of cleanliness.

Required skills

• Knowledge of housekeeping operations and standards.
• Experience with inventory control and budgeting.
• Proficiency in staff scheduling and time‑attendance tracking.
