Information Security Officer

About the role

The Bank of Jordan is seeking an experienced Information Security Officer to protect its information assets and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. You will lead the security operations team, drive incident response, and foster a culture of security awareness across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously monitor security alerts from SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint detection tools.
• Lead investigation, triage, and remediation of security incidents.
• Stay updated on threat intelligence, analyze emerging threats, and develop proactive defense strategies.
• Perform deep‑dive analysis and root‑cause investigations of complex incidents.
• Mentor junior SOC analysts and promote best practices.
• Prepare detailed incident reports and executive summaries for senior management.
• Collaborate with IT, network security, and risk management to implement security measures.
• Conduct threat hunting activities across the network and endpoints.
• Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, procedures, and knowledge base.
• Assist in tuning and optimizing security tools to reduce false positives.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in security operations or a related cybersecurity field.
• At least 2 years in a senior or leadership role within a SOC.
• Strong understanding of security technologies and frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, MITRE ATT&CK).
• Demonstrated incident response expertise and threat intelligence analysis.
• Relevant certifications (unspecified).
