Intermediate AWS DevOps Engineer

About the role

SlashTEC is looking for an Intermediate AWS DevOps Engineer to join its Amman office. The role focuses on designing, implementing and maintaining AWS‑based infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines for highly available applications.

Key responsibilities

• Provision, configure and manage core AWS services such as EC2, RDS, S3, VPC, IAM and Lambda.
• Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines using tools like Git, Jenkins or GitLab CI.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, CloudFormation or Ansible.
• Monitor system performance and reliability using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana or ELK/EFK stacks.
• Develop scripts in Python, Bash or PowerShell to automate operational tasks.
• Collaborate with development, QA and operations teams to streamline releases and optimise cost.
• Participate in incident response, documentation and continuous improvement of DevOps processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong hands‑on experience with AWS services and best practices for security, scalability and cost optimisation.
• Proven experience in DevOps environments, CI/CD pipeline design and automation.
• Solid understanding of Linux, networking fundamentals and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS).
• Experience with monitoring, logging and alerting solutions.
