Kitchen Intern

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Kitchen Intern to join our culinary team at a premier hotel in Amman. This full-time position offers hands-on experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations within a world-class hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, weighing, measuring and mixing according to recipes.
• Cook and assemble hot and cold dishes, ensuring quality, presentation and food safety standards.
• Operate kitchen equipment such: ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers safely and efficiently.
• Monitor food temperatures, test doneness, and maintain cleanliness of workstations, tools and equipment.
• Set up and break down stations, serve portions, and follow all company safety and security policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in a kitchen or food-service environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend and lift objects up to 25 lb for an entire shift.
• Professional appearance and commitment to confidentiality and asset protection.

Required skills

• Food preparation and portioning.
• Knife handling and chopping techniques.
• Operation of ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and temperature control.
