Laundry Presser (Housekeeping)

About the role

The Laundry Presser works within the Housekeeping & Laundry department of a hotel, ensuring that all linen and garments are cleaned, treated and returned to guests and staff in a timely and professional manner. This full‑time position involves operating a range of laundry and dry‑cleaning equipment while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Remove and separate soiled laundry from chutes or carts.
• Operate washing, dry‑cleaning and drying machines according to company procedures.
• Apply appropriate stain treatments based on fabric type.
• Maintain accurate records of loads, weight and dry‑cleaning poundage.
• Transport washed items to dryers and load them correctly.
• Clean lint screens, dry‑cleaning filters and drain traps after each load.
• Monitor chemical levels, dispense chemicals, and report any pump issues.
• Follow all safety, security and housekeeping policies.
• Inspect equipment for defects and report maintenance needs.

Required profile

• Ability to stand, sit or walk for an entire shift.
• Capable of lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling objects up to 25 lb without assistance.
• Comfortable moving through narrow, confined or elevated spaces and navigating stairs or ramps.
• Willingness to work in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision.
• No high school diploma or prior experience required.
