Lifting Equipment Inspector – Inspection & Load Testing

About the role

SGS is seeking a qualified Lifting Equipment Inspector to perform inspections and load tests on a variety of lifting assets, ensuring they meet international safety and performance standards. The role involves close collaboration with client representatives and internal teams to deliver accurate, compliant inspection results.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect overhead cranes, mobile cranes, tower cranes, forklifts, lifting gears and accessories.
• Conduct load testing to verify capacity and operational safety.
• Prepare detailed inspection and technical reports.
• Coordinate with client representatives and facility personnel to ensure accurate outcomes.
• Maintain regular communication with office staff regarding job status, issues, and concerns.
• Stay up‑to‑date with the latest industry procedures, client instructions and international standards.
• Perform additional duties as directed by the Business Manager, including continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Certification by the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA).
• Proven experience inspecting lifting equipment and accessories.
• Strong knowledge of safety procedures and international standards.
• Field experience and additional safety certifications are preferred.
• Ability to handle confidential material with a positive, learning attitude.
