Node.js Developer – Mid‑Level (Amman‑Based, Enterprise & Government)

About the role

We are seeking a mid‑level Node.js Developer to join our engineering team and build enterprise‑grade backend services for government and large corporate clients across the UAE and KSA. The position is based in Amman, working remotely with occasional travel to client sites when on‑site presence is required.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain RESTful APIs and micro‑services using Node.js frameworks such as Express, Fastify or NestJS.
• Build scalable backend services capable of handling high‑traffic loads for mission‑critical platforms.
• Write clean, well‑tested, production‑ready code with proper error handling, logging and monitoring.
• Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth 2.0, JWT, RBAC).
• Develop and maintain integrations with third‑party systems, government APIs and enterprise middleware.
• Design and optimise database schemas and queries for SQL Server, PostgreSQL or MongoDB, using ORMs like Sequelize, TypeORM or Prisma.
• Write unit and integration tests (Jest, Mocha) and maintain meaningful test coverage.
• Collaborate with DevOps to configure CI/CD pipelines, containerise services with Docker and deploy to Azure cloud environments.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, code reviews and technical documentation (OpenAPI/Swagger, runbooks).

Required profile

• 4–6 years of professional backend development experience with Node.js.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
• Hands‑on experience building and maintaining production RESTful APIs.
• Solid knowledge of relational (SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and/or NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.
• Familiarity with authentication/authorization patterns such as OAuth 2.0 and JWT.
• Experience with Docker and basic CI/CD concepts.
• Proven ability to work in cross‑functional Agile teams.
