Programme Management Assistant

About the role

The Programme Management Assistant supports the ESCWA Technology Centre in Amman by assisting with the planning, coordination and administrative follow‑up of medium‑size, complex programme and project components, including the Arab SMEs Summit. Reporting directly to the ETC Chief, the role ensures that project documentation, budgets and implementation activities are processed efficiently and in line with UN procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating programme and project planning, preparation and monitoring of proposals.
• Compile, summarize and present basic data on specific programmes and related issues.
• Review project documents, especially cost plans and budgets, for completeness and compliance; identify inconsistencies.
• Verify budget revisions, ensure fund availability and record entries in the computerized budget system.
• Act as focal point for administrative coordination, handling recruitment, travel, training, payments, procurement and other clearances.
• Enter project delivery data, draft status reports and highlight delivery shortfalls or budget overruns.
• Draft correspondence on budget matters and prepare periodic reports, briefing notes, statistical summaries and accounting spreadsheets.
